Jim Rogers started trading the stock market with $600 in 1968.In 1973 he formed the Quantum Fund with the legendary investor George Soros before retiring, a multi millionaire at the age of 37. Rogers and Soros helped steer the fund to a miraculous 4,200% return over the 10 year span of the fund while the S&P 500 returned just 47%.

China economy is continuing to grow despite the global recession

China $585bn stimulus package boost growth in China


China's economy is continuing to grow despite the global recession, helped by a massive government stimulus package of $585bn.

But doubts remain whether such strong growth can be sustained by public spending alone.

Al Jazeera's Melissa Chan reports from Inner Mongolia, where a whole town built with government money is standing empty.

Out of slump-swamp: China a global economy prime mover?


Asian leaders say it's their part of the globe that will lead the world out of recession. Twenty one nations are participating in this year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit. As part of that Chinese leader Hu Jintao has put forward a four-point proposal to boost economic growth and revive the world economy.
