China The Awakening Giant

China : the Emerging Superpower

China was the world's largest economy until the nineteenth century. But it missed the industrial revolution and it was dominated by the West before closing to the world for over thirty years during the Maoist revolution. Since economic reforms began in 1979 and thanks to the continuity of the state, China aspires to regain its rank as a superpower. China enters an era of great transformation that will shift its development to the depths of its territory. It will build social institutions and infrastructure matching those of the developed world.
China is still a Communist country but it is dissatisfied with its status in the world , the West must be naive to ignore its intentions and ambitions.

"When China awakes, it will shake the world."
- Napoleon Bonaparte

"Once China becomes strong enough to stand alone, it might discard us. A little later it might even turn against us, if its perception of its interests requires it."
- Henry Kissinger

China is more and more the subject of attention amongst investors, and economists of the world . Thanks to the economic reforms that were introduced by Deng Xiaoping in the late seventies have transformed the Chinese economy and produced a period of spectacular growth. China's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew at an average rate of 9.3 percent between 1979-1993. The world experienced a growth rate of 2.6 percent for the same period. China's GDP has also quadrupled over a period of only fifteen years.

Jim Rogers Hyperinflation is a possibility

Jim RogersFrom Jim Rogers The Economic Times Interview of 23 Feb 2010 :

Now is your prognosis still of hyperinflation around the world because of all the monetary loosening that has taken place?
"Hyperinflation is certainly a possibility when you say a probability yet but throughout history when people have printed huge amounts of money, it’s led to serious inflation always without fail and this is the only time when we recalled the history that nearly every government in the world has printed a lot of money. So, unless it’s different this time and it never is, then we are going to have more and more inflation whether it turns in the hyper in some countries, it will turn in the hyperinflation."
Jim Rogers "the 19th century was the century of the UK , the 20th century was the century of the US , the 21 st century is going to be the century of China "
